  • DIFFICULTÉS PRINCIPALES:
  • None worth mentioning, except for an occasional section of road with little traffic. During rainy periods, the Caldera del Agua zone can become impracticable.

  • RÉSERVES NATURELLES DANS LE RANDONNÉE:
  • Monumento Natural de La Costa de Hiscaguán.

  • PÉRIODE RECOMMANDÉE:
  • Any time of year except during periods of heavy rain.

  • COMMENT ARRIVER AU DÉPART?
  • This is a circular route.

  • RECOMMANDATIONS:
  • Habitual precautions common to hiking in general are listed below. At the risk of sounding obvious, here are some of the most important: - Check weather forecasts before setting off to hike. - Don´t go alone - Tell someone your intended destination and expected time of arrival - Carry a small rucksack with warm clothing, waterproofs, food and plenty of water. - Don´t forget such simple items as: sun hat, protective cream and sun glasses - Carry a mobile phone with fully-charged battery, a map and, if possible, a compass. They will probably never be used but, when required, are of vital importance. - Wear suitable gear, especially footwear: trekking boots or similar are essential, trainers or pumps are to be avoided. , habitual precautions common to hiking in general are listed below. • AUTRES REMARQUES:
  • Assessment of the water levels at Caldera del Agua is very simple: if there is a stream flowing through the tunnel passing beneath the road at La Zarza, at the start of the hike, it is advisable to abstain from doing the route. In such cases, the nearby PR LP 9.1 path is a good alternative. Even if there is only a small amount of water, expect to get wet feet, at the very least.
